TKC Global Solutions, LLC, an 8(a) and Alaska Native Corporation (ANC), received notice of award of the 8(a) STARS II contract from GSA. This contract will provide all agencies of the Federal government with a streamlined ordering process for their information technology services and solutions requirements. Directed task orders up to $4 million are permitted under this vehicle which caps at $10 billion over the 5-year base period of the contract. Competitive awards are also encouraged.

By using the GSA STARS II contract Federal agencies will have access to highly qualified IT services while also earning 8(a) small business credits for their agencies. This vehicle provides for the timely award of orders for optimal mission support while allowing for long term planning of large scale program requirements. Prenegotiated rates by locality already reflect the low contract access fee of 0.75%.

There is also flexibility in the contract types which include fixed price, labor hour and time and material terms. Because hardware can be purchased on STARS II task orders when it is integral to the IT services being procured, agencies now have a facilitated approach for planning and securing integrated IT solutions.
