U.S. Air Force - Network Integration Center

Scott Air Force Base, Illinois

Until now, Major Command (MAJCOM) Wings and other various Air Force organizations have been operating their own independent networks, driving unique and unit-specific requirements. Over the years, this approach lead to a lack of standardization, security problems, high operations, and maintenance costs and diminished enterprise situational awareness.

The Air Force Directory Exchange (ADX) migration program addresses this issue by collapsing all individual or stand-alone Air Force, Air Force Reserve and Air National Guard networks into a central Air Force Network (AFNet). TKC Global is providing the technical leadership to realize this goal. This engagement is the largest ever migration of multiple active directories supporting over 800,000 users. As the migration technical team lead for all Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and other core service migration efforts, TKC Global provides:

  • Advanced systems engineering support of NIPRNET and SIPRNET Microsoft Active Directory/Exchange environments
  • Support for user, group, e-mail, computer, and file migration of Microsoft Active Directory/Exchange from multiple environments to the AFNet environment
  • Server equipment and software installation services
  • Network optimization and troubleshooting support for base-level and enterprise data center network equipment for ADX enterprise equipment and clients

TKC Global, part of the AFNET team, reaches key milestone. Read more here: http://www.afspc.af.mil/news1/story.asp?id=123405483

Here are just a few quotes TKC Global has received from Air Force squadron and base commanders:

U.S. Navy - U.S. Naval Air Command (NAVAIR)

Naval Air Station, Patuxent River, Maryland

As airborne weapon systems develop and mature, they often undergo configuration changes and expansions of their operational flight parameters. At each step—from first flight to retirement—airworthiness must be assured and certified by a U.S. Naval Air System Command (NAVAIR) Flight Clearance. The NAVAIR Flight Clearance IT Web Processing System is key to this process. Because it houses all items, processes, and workflows required for any Navy office worldwide to attain flight clearance. Originally engaged to provide 24/7/365 operational and maintenance support assuring availability, TKC Global is now creating the Navy's Next Generation Airworthiness Website using Agile Project Management with Scrum. Since implementing Agile Project Management with Scrum, TKC Global has consistently provided incremental functionality every three weeks. The customer has approved every demonstration as "Done," validating TKC Global's correct interpretation of the customer's requirements.

TKC Global provides the following services to NAVAIR 4.0P:

  • Requirements analysis for major and minor system enhancements
  • Software development, testing, and deployment
  • Software code and activity records management

A web-based distributed system, NMCMPS is the single authoritative data source providing Navy and Marine Corps Component Commanders end-to-end visibility and control of all current and future contingency augmentation requirements and processes, including automated workflow processing, order writing, and mobilization/demobilization processing. TKC Global supports this system with:

  • Functional requirements gathering
  • Technical design and specifications to ensure DIACAP compliance
  • System maintenance, support, and planned upgrades
  • Subject matter expertise
